The Center was opened in October 2008 within the frame of the Russian-German project of establishing a Network of Russian-German regional laser innovation technology centers for the purpose of mastering the unique possibilities of modern volumetric laser processing technologies to the industrial enterprises of the Ural Region.
On the Russian part the project of establishing NP «Ural LITC» was supervised by the Laser Association (Moscow) and on the German part by the Laser Center Hannover.
- NP «Moscow laser innovation technology center» (Moscow)
- OJSC «Ural scientific-and-research technology institute» (Yekaterinburg)
- CJSC «Regional center of sheet processing» (Yekaterinbur
g).
The Center was established due to the support provided by the Ministry of education and science of Germany, by the company TRUMPF as well as by the International Technical Organization Laser Association (Moscow), by the Government of Sverdlovsk Region and the City Administration of Yekaterinburg.
NP «Ural LITC» possesses a multifunctional laser unit TLC 1005 (Germany) with 5 kW CO2-laser, that was granted to the Center by the Laser Center Hannover irrevocably and free of charge.
